For years, I fantasized about writing plotting stories in my head and daydreaming about writing full-time.

But after crashing and burning on traditional writing advice like "just sit down and write" or "write every day," I became convinced that I was not only bad at writing, but I didn't even like writing at all.

I'm Ashley, a physical therapist turned creativity coach, here to help writers living with chronic illness build a writing life that actually feels good.

lover of all things creepy, cozy & drenched in hot sauce

Hey, writer friend!

But, I was overwhelmed, uninspired, and putting massive pressure on myself, which left me questioning my worth and flaring up my chronic symptoms.

I didn't need another productivity hack. I needed a complete creative reset and a path to break free from my negative mindset so I could reconnect with the joy I once felt while writing and build a sustainable routine alongside my chronic illnesses.

Did I actually hate writing? No!

So, I created Write With Ashley to be the resource I wish I had during years of struggle to write with a chronic illness.

Together, we’ll explore tools from neuroscience to mindfulness, alongside creativity coaching to help you:

  • Work through mindset blocks
  • Build a sustainable writing routine that won't flare your symptoms
  • Show up for your writing consistently
  • Reconnect with joy and curiosity in your writing process

I've got you! Here I combine 10+ years of study of the mind-body connection with my own personal experience navigating a creative resurrection while chronically ill.

Does your creative routine need an exorcism?

Chronic illness does not have to be the villain of your story.

Together we can work to retrain your brain to reduce your chronic symptoms and build an enjoyable writing routine that lasts.

I want to give you the tools to not only boost your creative but also to calm your nervous system by linking your creative and self-care practices.

Remember stakes are for vampires, not your writing routine. Sustainability is crucial when designing a plan that you can stick with. Think: less pressure, more joy.

Next, determine why you haven't been writing (no time? too fatigued? a ghost in the attic of your brain?), and shift the mindset blocks getting in the way of your best writing life.

face your creative demons.

If you are the writer who is constantly daydreaming about writing, but rarely (if ever) sitting down to write, the first step is to accept your beautiful, writerly self.

FLARE-PROOF your writing routine.

More to know about me: I am disabled, anxious, and an ADHDer. I love reading, watching, and writing stories that blend horror (that's fun and not too scary) with epic adventures, and I'm sharing the process of writing my first novel over on Youtube.

I’m not here to teach you about query letters or how to get a book deal, but I can give you the tools you need to take the first step to getting there.

But even more importantly I am:

A mom to an adventurous little guy + unadventurous little dog.

A bit of a tumbleweed. I have moved 17 times in the last 10 years, but now call Midcoast Maine home.

Happily married to a man I friend-zoned for years. Oops!

Unconditionally and irrevocably in love with... breakfast.

A horror fan! But my favorite story is The Lord of the Rings.

Fascinated by the life and work of Shirley Jackson.

A book AND movie lover- just depends on my mood and energy.

Into using witchy tools, like tarot,  to connect to my intuition.
